Livelihood Interventions

Entrepreneurship Development Programme

Entrepreneurs are regarded as national assets and their potentiality needs to be cultivated , motivated and remunerated to the greatest possible extent. Great entrepreneurs have the ability to change the way we live and work. Entrepreneurship is thus important for a number of reasons from promoting social change to driving innovation.

Beneficiaries: 50+ youths of Golaghat District of Assam.

Toy Making Workshop

SDF organized a Toy Making Workshop in collaboration with Kanaklata Mohila Bayan Samobai Somittee for two days among rural women of Morangi Mouza. Focus was also levied on marketing & selling of the products. It also taught on the various methods and techniques of toy-making.

Beneficiaries: 100+ women of Golaghat District of Assam.

SDF also organized an Embroidery Training Program for SC, ST, Minority and economically weak families among rural women and girls of Morangi Mouza. The training was undertaken under the guidance of a master trainer.

Beneficiaries: 15+ SC, ST, Minority women.

Weavers' Training

A 30 days " Weavers Training Program '' was organized by SDF for training the people on weaving. The training was undertaken under the guidance of a master trainer.at Kanklota Bayan Somabai Samitee, Bokial.

Beneficiaries: 30+ people.

Training Cum Vetiver Seed Distribution Program

A training programme was organised on vetiver and patchouli cultivation as medical and aromatic plantations for commercial alternative agriculture purposes in joint collaboration with NRL, Seuj Jatra at Doigrong SDF Head Office. SDF distributed vetiver seeds among the farmers of Kendugiri, Khumtai, Kuruwabahi, Merapani, and Bonchapori.

Personality Development Programme

A two days workshop was organized by SDF for the all-around development of individuals. The main objective of the workshop was to familiarize participants with the emerging ideas and trends on how to develop personality in the 21st Century context. The camp was held at Doigrung P.H.G. Bidyapith.

Beneficiaries: People of Moigrong of Assam.

Educational Interventions

Textbook Distribution Programme

This project is targeted to support students from financially weak families by providing them with textbooks for one academic session.

The program is held in different locations:  Morangi College, Purabangla, SDF main office, Doigrung, Golaghat, Doyang College. 

CONDUCTION OF EDUCATIONAL SURVEYS:

Surveys are also done for determining annual educational status, to provide reliable estimates of children's enrollment and provide basic learning levels in Golaghat District.

CONSTRUCTION OF PUBLIC LIBRARY:

SDF in collaboration with Numaligarh Refinery Limited initiated the construction of a Public Library. This is an initiative to promote education among the locals of Morangi Mouza.

            Phase 1: Infrastructure in the year 2016 - 17 with an aid of INR 1.5 Lac from NRL.

          Phase 2: Equipping the library with books with an aid of INR 75,000 from NRL. through Bokial Book Stall.

MOBILE LIBRARY:

The mobile library is a pilot project by SDF which aims to promote reading at home to gain insights. Especially in a challenging time, when children from rural areas have very few options to keep them engaged in reading and learning.

Beneficiaries: 15 schools of Morangi Mouza, Golaghat Successfully completed nearly 10,000 novels, Story books, and rotation at school in the year 2019-20.

Beneficiaries: 300+ students of H.S. & TDC of Morangi College, Khumtai Joya Gogol College and Komargaon College,Doyang Mahavidyalaya.

Awareness Activities

Anti Alcoholism Campaign

Social Development Forum (SDF) organized an anti-alcohol and drug awareness program. The Objective of this awareness program was to create awareness about the Ill effects and hazardous effects of alcohol and drug use and reduce the use of said bad habits. The campaign was organised at Morangi Development Block Auditorium Hall.

Beneficiaries: 150+ beneficiaries & 10+ schools across Morangi Mouza.

Anti Tobacco Programme

‘The primary aim of this campaign is to create awareness about the ill effect of Tobacco consumption and an effort to get rid of the addiction to it among the upcoming youth of the society so as to create a Tobacco-free new generation. The campaign program was carried out in four different phases. 1st, 2nd, 3rd Phase - Awareness program at 15 different schools within a 15 KM. radius from Numaligarh Refinery Limited. 4th Phase - Conducting art and essay competitions on the topic “Harmful effects of Tobacco" at those schools. The campaign was funded by NRL and supported by the Golaghat Anti-Tobacco cell.

Awareness Program on MGNREGA ACT, 2005

SDF has successfully organised MNREGA Awareness Program at Ajanta Kolamandol, Golaghat Town, MerpaniOn, Furkating. MGNREGA act aims at enhancing the livelihood security of households in rural areas of the country by providing at least 100 days of guaranteed wage employment in a financial year to every household whose adult members volunteer to do unskilled manual Work.

Senior Citizen health, hygiene Awareness Program

For easy access to health awareness and hygiene practices among old age people, SDF organized health, hygiene and other problem related to awareness programs in collaboration with the senior citizen forum, Golaghat, Assam.
